Skilling Appeals Conviction, Cites “Honest Services” Statute

Law360, New York (October 12, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- In light of a recent appeals court decision that overturned the convictions in four Enron cases, the bankrupt energy company’s former CEO Jeffery Skilling has once again asked a district court judge to toss his guilty verdict.

Daniel Petrocelli, Skilling’s attorney, petitioned Judge Sim Lake to either reverse his conviction on counts of insider-trading, conspiracy and fraud, or grant a new trial.
