23-Year Sentence Upheld In $8M Credit Scheme Case

Law360, New York (September 08, 2009, 1:39 PM ET) -- A federal appeals court has upheld a guilty verdict and 23-year prison sentence for a Canadian man over his alleged role in defrauding 40,000 U.S. consumers through a telemarketing company that operated a bogus credit recovery business out of Toronto.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit on Thursday affirmed a jury's guilty verdict and a district court's prison sentence for Leslie Anderson, former president of First Capital Consumers Group.
