11th Circ. Shoots Down Taser Wrongful Death Claims

Law360, New York (December 02, 2009, 6:07 PM ET) -- A federal appeals court has affirmed Taser International Inc.'s victory in another wrongful death lawsuit, this time involving claims that the use of its controversial high-voltage stun gun led to a drugged woman's fatal cardiac arrest.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit upheld summary judgment in favor of defendants Taser and deputies of the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office in Georgia, which were sued by the family of Melinda Fairbanks.
