Gearing Up For American Needle V. NFL

Law360, New York (January 11, 2010, 12:26 PM ET) -- Even as competition heats up this month in the National Football League playoffs, the Supreme Court is set to hear argument in an antitrust case involving the potential for off-the-field competition among NFL teams.

Observers say American Needle Inc. v. NFL, scheduled for argument on Jan. 13, 2010, could produce a landmark sports law decision defining the framework for antitrust scrutiny of professional sports leagues and perhaps other highly integrated joint ventures.
