Law360, New York (September 02, 2004, 12:00 AM ET) -- Dutch chip equipment maker ASML and Japanese rival Nikon have agreed settle their costly and long-running patent dispute over circuit-making equipment, fought for two years in courts in California, Washington, South Korea and Japan.
The two rivals said they have reached a "tentative agreement" on the basic terms of settlement, under which ASML will pay an undisclosed amount to Nikon. The final agreement is expected in the first half of September.
No financial terms were released.
