High Court Won't Consider Medical Device Case

Law360, New York (December 13, 2010, 3:53 PM ET) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to take on a medical device injury case against Guidant Corp. over the Ancure Endograft System, in which a California court ruled that state law claims were preempted by the Medical Device Amendments of 1976.

Guidant parent company Boston Scientific Corp. declined to comment Monday after the high court effectively put an end to cases brought by two plaintiffs, Michael J. McGuan and Lillian Johnson.
