Law360, New York (December 22, 2011, 3:12 PM ET) -- Author Dan Brown and his publisher, Simon & Schuster Inc., on Tuesday urged the First Circuit not to revive a copyright suit from another writer who claims Brown's bestselling "Angels and Demons" lifted passages from his rival religious thriller.
Brown and CBS Corp. unit Simon & Schuster maintain that there is no similarity between Brown's novel and plaintiff John. F. Dunn's "The Vatican Boys," aside from the fact that both are mystery-thrillers set against the backdrop of the Catholic church.
