Law360, New York (April 30, 2012, 2:23 PM ET) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday granted imprisoned ex-Illinois Gov. George Ryan's request to challenge his mail fraud conviction, saying the Seventh Circuit should reconsider the case in light of a recent high court ruling that may alter its decision that Ryan didn't raise certain objections in time.
On April 24, the Supreme Court decided Wood v. Milyard, holding that there are circumstances where an appeals court can overlook a defendant's failure to object on time, which could affect the Seventh Circuit's rejection of Ryan's appeal....
