6th Circ. Upholds Class In Whirlpool Moldy Washer Suit

Law360, New York (May 03, 2012, 3:22 PM ET) -- Whirlpool Corp. on Thursday lost a battle in the Sixth Circuit to overturn certification of a class of thousands of Ohio consumers who say their front-loading washers accumulate mold, ruin laundry and give off unpleasant odors.

The class was the first to be certified in a multidistrict litigation claiming that Whirlpool's Duet, Duet HT, Duet Sport and Duet Sport HT front-load washers do not thoroughly rinse detergent from clothes or properly drain the laundry drum.
