9th Circ. Doubts NFL Contract's Workers' Comp Limits

Law360, Los Angeles (May 11, 2012, 7:00 PM ET) -- The Ninth Circuit voiced doubts Friday that the National Football League Management Council can enforce a contract provision blocking former Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Bruce Matthews from pursuing workers’ compensation benefits in California, pointing to a 1935 U.S. Supreme Court decision finding the right to seek such benefits unwaivable.
