Fed. Circ. Remands Guidant Patent Case For Damages

Law360, New York (December 18, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- In a long-standing patent dispute between Guidant Corp. and St. Jude Medical Inc. over implantable defibrillators, a federal appeals court has ruled that Guidant’s patent claim covering how the device is used is valid and remanded the case to a district court for an assessment of infringement damages.
