Stena Drillship Still Faces Transocean Patent Claims

Law360, New York (June 24, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Holding that a long-term contract for drillship use may constitute an actionable offer to sell patented technology, a federal judge has allowed Transocean Offshore Deepwater Drilling Inc. to amend its allegations that Stena Drilling Ltd.’s drillship under construction for use in the Gulf of Mexico infringes numerous patents.
