Viagra MDL Judge Bars Expert From Daubert Hearing

Law360, New York (July 13, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Plaintiffs in multidistrict litigation over Pfizer Inc.'s Viagra have lost a bid to have one of their star expert witnesses testify at a Daubert rehearing on a study linking the impotence drug to eye damage.

Judge Paul A. Magnuson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota on Monday denied the plaintiffs’ motion to have Dr. Gerald McGwin provide live testimony at the hearing, saying simply that his testimony “will not be needed.”
