NY Gov. Signs Executive Order To Reduce Emissions

Law360, New York (August 7, 2009, 6:39 PM EDT) -- New York Gov. David A. Paterson has signed an executive order establishing a goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the state by 80 percent below 1990 levels over the next four decades.

The order, signed Thursday, also creates a climate action council that will be required to submit a plan by Sept. 30, 2010, to address how all economic sectors can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change.
