Big Dig Glue Maker Pays Fine To Settle Feds' Case

Law360, New York (September 18, 2009, 4:05 PM EDT) -- Powers Fasteners Inc., the New York-based company that supplied epoxy implicated in the fatal 2006 ceiling collapse in Boston’s Big Dig tunnel, has agreed to pay $100,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by federal prosecutors.

Powers filed its plea bargain in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts on Friday, the same day Acting Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Michael K. Loucks filed a one-count information charging Powers with making a false statement in connection with the Big Dig.
