Amerigon Files Suit Over Auto Seat System Patent

Law360, New York (November 18, 2009, 3:12 PM ET) -- Amerigon Inc. has sued W.E.T. Automotive Systems AG for allegedly infringing four patents it owns or licenses for technology that powers temperature-controlled automobile seats.

Northville, Mich.-based Amerigon filed suit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against W.E.T.'s Ontario, Canada-based subsidiary, according to a company statement.

W.E.T. refused to comment on the suit.

The suit alleges that W.E.T.'s Active Cools products, which use thermoelectric devices to heat and cool seat occupants in automobiles, infringe Amerigon's patents, according to a company spokesperson....
