Employees Win Cert. In Mortgage Lenders OT Case

Law360, New York (November 25, 2009, 1:31 PM ET) -- A judge has granted conditional certification in a collective action brought by loan originators who allege that Mortgage Lenders of America LLC failed to properly compensate them for overtime.

In an order signed Monday and filed Tuesday, Judge Carlos Murguia of the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas signed off on conditionally certifying a class that includes anyone who worked as a loan originator at the company's Overland Park, Kan., facility over the last three years.
