Daiichi Sankyo Goes After Sandoz For Evoxac ANDA

Law360, New York (November 30, 2009, 12:37 PM EST) -- Daiichi Sankyo Co. Ltd. has hit Sandoz Inc. with a patent infringement suit to prevent the generic-drug maker from releasing its own version of Evoxac, a drug that treats dry mouth in patients with Sjogren's syndrome, an immune system disorder.

The Japanese drugmaker and its U.S. unit, Daiichi Sankyo Inc., filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware on Wednesday, alleging that an abbreviated new drug application filed by Sandoz infringes a Daiichi Sankyo patent that underlies Evoxac.
