Apple Makes Partial Deal In Psystar Computer Suit

Law360, New York (December 02, 2009, 1:09 PM ET) -- Apple Inc. has struck a partial settlement of its copyright and breach of contract suit alleging Psystar Corp. has been illegally using the proprietary Mac OS X operating system on Psystar-made computers.

Judge William Alsup of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Tuesday signed off on the parties’ joint stipulation, in which Psystar agreed to shell out nearly $2.7 million in damages and attorneys’ fees to the technology giant, and in return, Apple will dismiss without prejudice its trademark, trade dress...
