Sens. Grill SEC, DOJ, FBI On Corporate Convictions

Law360, New York (December 9, 2009, 6:38 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday probed federal officials responsible for investigating mortgage and financial fraud over the pace of their enforcement efforts and the rate of convictions of executives who engaged in corporate malfeasance leading up to the U.S. economic crisis.

Senators questioned officials from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Office of the Attorney General and the FBI at a hearing on mortgage and financial fraud, asking what gaps still exist in the nation's financial regulations.
