Tekelec Sues Rival Over Telecom Network Patents

Law360, New York (December 10, 2009, 3:26 PM EST) -- Telecommunications services company Tekelec has sued rival Performance Technologies Inc. for allegedly infringing patents related to communications networks.

In a complaint filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, Morrisville, N.C.-based Tekelec accuses Performance Technologies of infringing three patents.

The patents involve methods and systems for providing message translation, accounting and routing service; methods and systems for routing signaling messages using circuit identification code information; and methods and systems using signal transfer points, according to the complaint.
