Google Squashes Inventor's AdWords Patent Suit

Law360, New York (January 12, 2010, 12:43 PM ET) -- A judge has thrown out a lawsuit against Google Inc. brought by an inventor who claimed the Internet titan's AdWords system infringed his patent, adopting a magistrate judge’s report and recommendation over the plaintiff’s objections.

Judge George B. Daniel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York signed off on an order Monday adopting the report and recommendation, which said that plaintiff Roger Marx Desenberg's complaint should be dismissed for failing to state a claim for indirect or direct patent infringement....
