Movie Gallery Blasts Fred Meyer Over Locked Stores

Law360, New York (February 09, 2010, 2:50 PM ET) -- Bankrupt video and DVD rental chain Movie Gallery Inc. is seeking an order holding landlord Fred Meyer Stores Inc. in contempt for changing the locks on six Movie Gallery stores and denying the company access to the premises.

Movie Gallery on Monday asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia to find Fred Meyer in contempt for violating the automatic stay provision of Chapter 11 and to compel the department store chain to provide access to the stores.
