Watson Settles Mass. Medicaid Fraud Suit For $2.4M

Law360, New York (February 16, 2010, 5:35 PM ET) -- Agreeing to pay $2.4 million, Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. has become the latest drug giant to settle claims brought by the Massachusetts attorney general that it defrauded the state's Medicaid program into overpaying for prescription drugs.

In the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts on Thursday, Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley and Watson settled claims that the drugmaker committed Medicaid fraud by inflating drug prices sent to industry reporting services.
