Lincoln Annuity Patent Spat Will Wait For Bilski

Law360, New York (February 17, 2010, 2:05 PM ET) -- A judge has stayed Transamerica Financial Life Insurance Co.'s summary judgment bid in Lincoln National Life Insurance Co.'s patent enforcement action over a computerized system for administering retirement benefits, accepting Lincoln's argument that the court should put off any decision until the U.S. Supreme Court reviews the Bilski case.

Magistrate Judge Roger B. Cosbey in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana on Friday granted Lincoln's motion to stay, saying the factors overwhelmingly support Lincoln’s request.
