Google AdWords Suit Gets Whittled Down
Law360, New York (March 02, 2010, 4:27 PM ET) -- A federal judge has dismissed Lanham Act and other claims in a suit accusing Google Inc. of illegally profiting from the sale of third-party trademarks through the keyword suggestion tool in its AdWords program, but he gave the plaintiff leave to amend.
Judge Morrison England Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California dismissed five claims on Monday, but provided plaintiff Daniel Jurin 20 days to reword his complaint. Fraud and unjust enrichment claims remain pending.
