Jury Trial Gets OK'd In Volvo Retiree Benefits Suit

Law360, New York (March 09, 2010, 1:15 PM ET) -- Retired workers suing Volvo Group North America Inc. will be able to pursue money damages in a jury trial, a federal magistrate judge has ruled.

Magistrate Judge Pamela Meade Sargent of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia ruled Friday that a class of workers, who were employees at all of Volvo's operations in North America until 2007, have a right under the Seventh Amendment to pursue money damages against the Swedish carmaker.
