Spitzer Lines Up Rematch With H&R Block

Law360, New York (December 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer has reportedly relaunched his much-publicized case against tax preparation company H&R Block Inc., which he accused of fraudulent business practices related to its sale of IRA accounts.

The suit, filed Monday in New York Supreme Court, came just a few weeks after a judge tossed Spitzer’s first case against H&R Block, ruling that since the company does not have a presence in the state, Spitzer does not have jurisdiction.
