Dell Targets Hitachi, Toshiba In TFT-LCD Antitrust Case

Law360, New York (March 15, 2010, 7:17 PM ET) -- Dell Inc. has accused Hitachi Ltd., Toshiba Corp. and three other technology companies of conspiring to artificially inflate prices of thin film transistor liquid crystal display panels, the latest addition to multidistrict litigation alleging a massive price-fixing scheme.

Japan-based TFT-LCD manufacturers Epson Imaging Devices Corp., Sharp Corp., Hitachi and Toshiba and Taiwan-based HannStar Display Corp. violated state and federal antitrust laws by engaging in a scheme from Jan.1, 1996, until Dec. 11, 2006, to fix and raise prices for LCD panels, according to the complaint lodged...
