Chesapeake Energy Sued Over Fatal Gas Well Blast

Law360, New York (March 22, 2010, 3:16 PM EDT) -- The family of a crane truck operator who was killed in a Louisiana gas well explosion in 2009 has sued Chesapeake Energy Corp., alleging that the company failed to take safety precautions that could have prevented the blast.

Barbara Dennis, whose husband James Dennis died in the Nov. 18 incident in DeSoto Parish, La., filed suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. James Siler, who was injured in the same explosion, is also a plaintiff in the suit.
