Cathay To Pay Fuel Consultants $2.3M In Contract Spat

Law360, New York (March 31, 2010, 7:28 PM EDT) -- Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. has agreed to pay fuel conservation consulting company Flight Sciences Inc. a total of $2.3 million, including a $1.5 million jury award for damages, to end a breach of contract dispute over compensation for cost-cutting ideas.

A consent judgment was issued in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Tuesday, about three years after Flight Sciences sued Cathay alleging it was owed money for developing ways for Cathay to reduce its fuel costs.
