Class Action Over Denny's Salt Content Dismissed

Law360, New York (April 9, 2010, 1:51 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has dismissed a class action alleging Denny's Corp. failed to inform consumers of the high sodium content in its meals, disagreeing with the plaintiff that the restaurant chain breached an implied contract.

Judge Matthew Kennelly of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Illinois issued the ruling Wednesday, saying the plaintiff, Jason Ciszewski, failed to show that any single Denny's meal contains an unsafe amount of salt even if many Denny's meals combined could pose a health risk.
