Safety Fears Spark Toyota Recall Of Minivans, SUVs

Law360, New York (April 19, 2010, 4:30 PM EDT) -- Toyota Motor Corp. has recalled 600,000 Sienna minivans and 9,400 Lexus GX 460 sport utility vehicles amid safety worries over issues unrelated to the unintended acceleration at the heart of the automaker's recent troubles.

The GX 640 recall was announced Monday, the same day Toyota agreed to pay a $16.4 million civil penalty for failing to notify the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the acceleration problem.
