Firm Names First African-American Dept. Head

Law360, New York (January 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- One of the largest litigation departments in the nation has reached a milestone. Hunton & Williams LLP has made Frank E. Emory Jr. the firm’s first African-American department head and also put him in charge of the firm's intellectual property group.

Emory, who was named department head on Monday, will be responsible for both the litigation and IP practices as head of the 300-lawyer Litigation Department. Emory’s expertise includes intellectual property, complex contract disputes, business torts, and covenants against competition.
