$593M Rangers Bid Beats Out Cuban's

Law360, New York (August 5, 2010, 11:35 AM EDT) -- Pepper Hamilton LLP partner Charles Greenberg and Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan won the fight for the Texas Rangers early Thursday with a $593 million bid, edging out billionaire Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban at a contentious auction that ran past midnight.

The Greenberg-Ryan team's bid in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas topped a bid valued at $581.2 million by Cuban and Houston businessman Jim Crane, Major League Baseball said Thursday.
