Enviros Appeal Alaska Cruise Ship Wastewater Rules

Law360, New York (August 25, 2010, 4:09 PM EDT) -- Environmental groups are challenging Alaska's refusal to review its 2010 permit for cruise ships operating in state waters, which allows the use of multiple wastewater treatment systems.

A notice of appeal, filed Monday in Juneau Superior Court, argues that the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation hasn't done enough to require cruise ships to use the latest water treatment methods.
