Wal-Mart Hit With CWA Suit Over Upstate NY Store

Law360, New York (October 21, 2010, 3:33 PM EDT) -- Two New York state conservation groups have claimed that a Wal-Mart Stores Inc. construction site near Niagara Falls that demolished a historic theater has discharged pollutants in violation of the Clean Water Act.

In the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York on Tuesday, the advocacy groups accused Wal-Mart, the city of North Tonawanda and the state's transportation department of violating the CWA in relation to the 38.7-acre project.
