Law360, New York (November 08, 2010, 3:39 PM ET) -- A federal judge has ordered Global Technologies Inc. to pay $626.2 million in damages for violating copyright law, finding the Korean company liable for trafficking technology aimed at circumventing Dish Network Corp.'s security system.
Judge Jack Zouhary of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California granted summary judgment to Dish, EchoStar Technologies Corp. and NagraStar LLC on Friday, finding that Global Technologies willfully violated the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
