Stryker Sues Zimmer Over Wound System Patent

Law360, New York (December 15, 2010, 6:51 PM EST) -- Stryker Corp. has accused rival medical device maker Zimmer Inc. of manufacturing wound debridement systems that infringe three patents covering surgical irrigation device technology.

Kalamzoo, Mich.-based Stryker along with its subsidiaries Stryker Puerto Rico Ltd. and Stryker Sales Corp. lodged their patent infringement complaint against Zimmer and its subsidiary Zimmer Orthopaedic Surgical Products in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan on Friday.
