Sierra Club Sues Over Calif. Solar Power Plant

Law360, New York (January 6, 2011, 4:56 PM EST) -- The Sierra Club has sued the California Energy Commission over its approval of a massive solar energy plant, claiming that the project will have severe negative impacts on presently undisturbed land in the Mojave Desert.

The environmental advocacy group filed suit Dec. 30, asking the California Supreme Court to vacate and set aside the CEC's approval of the plant, known as the Calico Solar Project.
