GAO Strikes Down HDT Protest Of $63M Army Contract

Law360, New York (January 07, 2011, 6:31 PM ET) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has denied a bid protest by HDT Tactical Systems Inc. claiming the Army unfairly awarded a $63 million deal to competitor Mainstream Engineering Inc. for new, rugged air conditioning units.

The GAO issued the decision on Dec. 14, but released it publicly Friday. HDT alleged the Army improperly evaluated its units during testing and that it essentially gave preferential treatment to Mainstream.
