EU Raids Major Truck Makers In Cartel Probe

Law360, New York (January 18, 2011, 4:02 PM EST) -- European antitrust regulators on Tuesday raided the offices of a number of the world's largest truck manufacturers, including Daimler AG and Volvo AB, as it launched an investigation into a possible cartel in the industry.

The European Commission began the unannounced inspections in several countries on Tuesday, saying it has reason to believe that the truck makers may have participated in a cartel, engaged in other restrictive business practices or abused their dominant market positions.
