Law360, New York (January 19, 2011, 5:14 PM ET) -- A federal judge has thrown out a copyright infringement claim in Richtek Technology Corp.'s intellectual property war against its competitors over microchips, while keeping alive the company's patent infringement allegations.
Judge William Alsup of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Tuesday granted defendant Maxchip Electronics Corp.'s motion to dismiss Richtek's copyright infringement claim for failure to state a claim but said Richtek had sufficient grounds to file its three patent infringement claims.
