NY Tax Officials Object To Tribune Ch. 11 Plans

Law360, New York (February 3, 2011, 5:13 PM EST) -- New York state tax officials have objected to all three of bankrupt media giant Tribune Co.'s competing reorganization plans, alleging that they would all make it hard for the state to collect on taxes it is owed.

The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance argued that the plans did not include a default provision, would prevent tax officials from pursuing non-debtor individuals and would attempt to cut off the state's setoff and recoupment rights, according to three objections filed Wednesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy...
