Skechers Will Refile Asics Lawsuit

Law360, New York (April 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Popular shoe company Skechers plans to refile its lawsuit against Asics Corp. for trade libel and unfair competition, and claims its rival knew of this when it sent out a press release informing the public that the suit had been dropped.

On Monday, Skechers said that it would refile the suit after it answers Asics competing complaint, and will seek $100 million in punitive damages and a declaration that none of its designs infringe on Asics’ trademarks.
