Sirius-XM Merger Gets Green Light From Canada

Law360, New York (February 23, 2011, 9:42 PM EST) -- Canada's Competition Bureau announced Wednesday that it would allow satellite radio company Sirius Canada Inc.'s merger with XM Canada to go forward unchallenged.

The competition enforcement agency said it would not file an application to the Competition Tribunal to challenge Sirius Canada's acquisition of XM Canada, which is owned by Canadian Satellite Radio Holdings Inc.

The Competition Bureau's decision came after a review of the transaction found that the acquisition would not hamper competition.
