Apple Wins ITC Patent Ruling Against Nokia

Law360, New York (March 25, 2011, 8:30 PM EDT) -- A U.S. International Trade Commission judge ruled Friday that Apple Inc.'s iPhones, iPods and computers do not infringe Nokia Corp.'s mobile battery, camera, touch screen and antenna technology patents.

In a decision vindicating the electronics giant, Judge E. James Gildea said that Apple did not infringe five patents that Nokia asserted in its ITC case. Judge Gildea's notice, a final initial determination, also said that no domestic industry exists for three of the patents.
