Rick James' Trust Freaks Out Over UMG Royalties

Law360, New York (April 04, 2011, 2:30 PM ET) -- The estate of late funk artist Rick James hit UMG Recordings Inc. with a putative class action on Friday in California, accusing the label of trying to cheat musicians out of tens of millions of dollars in annual royalties from digital music sales.
