EEOC Eyes Bias Against Caregivers

Law360, New York (May 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Warning companies to be careful against discriminating against workers based on their family lives, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Wednesday issued guidance on the application of equal opportunity laws to workplace and family life matters.

“With this new guidance, the Commission is clarifying how the federal EEO laws apply to employees who struggle to balance work and family,” said EEOC Vice Chair Leslie E. Silverman.
