Judge Refuses To Toss Class Claims Against Wal-Mart

Law360, New York (May 30, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- A judge presiding over the wage-and-hour consolidated action against Wal-Mart has denied the retailer’s motion to dismiss the class allegations, but has also struck down the plaintiffs’ claim for punitive damages.

Judge Saundra Brown Armstrong refused Tuesday to toss the class and overtime claims against Wal-Mart, while granting the dismissal of the plaintiffs’ damages and conversion claims in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
